Agreement between Valencia CF and Chiliz, creators of the Fan Tokens and the Socios.com platform
This Friday, Valencia CF announced a new partnership agreement with Chiliz, the creators of Fan Tokens and the fan engagement platform Socios.com, The company will become the club's Official Fan Token Partner.
With this agreement, Valencia CF reaffirm a commitment to innovation, becoming the first team to display its own fan token ($VCF) on the front of the first team shirt during the 2021/22 season and ushering in a new era of fan engagement.
Anil Murthy, Valencia CF President:
“I am excited to launch our new partnership with Socios.com today. We will be the only club in Europe with the ‘VCF Tokens’ logo on our first team shirt. This is a partnership that will revolutionise the way a club like Valencia CF will engage with fans: Not just locally, but globally."
“Socios.com works with many of the big clubs in Europe, but they decided to do something unique with Valencia CF, putting the VCF Token name on our shirt for next season. I believe that their decision was based on Valencia CF's desire to innovate being aligned with their plans to bring in a revolutionary newnway for sports to interact with their fans. All our fans across the globe will be able to participate, in some way, in some of the decisions that the club makes. Many changes are taking place, and many younger generations are wondering how to spend their time. We need to revolutionise the way we remain attractive to future generations.”

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com:
"We are very excited to have signed this agreement today, because it’s the first in the way we are going to promote Fan Tokens and engage with fans and the club. We felt that the appetite of Valencia CF to be a very innovative club fit our needs to be more creative, and we think we are going to be very successful in the way we engage fans from Valencia, from Spain, but also all over the world."
“Today is a world premiere, because it is the first time ever that a football club -or even a sports team- will carry the name of their token on the front of their shirt. That’s something that we are very proud of, and we are happy that Valencia CF are the first club to do it."
“In 2021, the relationship between fans and clubs is evolving because of technology and because of COVID-19. Fan Tokens do not change the past, but they are a new way to help fans to get closer to their favourite teams. We believe that what we are doing in terms of experiences, gamification and loyalty programs is going to help clubs and fans to work better together."
